All new fencers are required to take two 60-minute private lessons in order to start fencing at NMFF. You may start at any time of the year.

Tuesday 4:30 – 5:45: Improvement Class

Tuesday 6:00 – 7:30: Open Bouting

Wednesday 4:30 – 5:30 Youth Beginner Class

Thursday 4:30 – 5:45 Competitive Class

Thursday 6:00 – 7:30 Open Bouting

Friday: 3:00 – 4:30 Adult Open Bouting

Saturday 9:30 – 10:30 Improvement/Competitive Class

Saturday 10:30 – noon: Open Bouting​

Costs and Payment

Monthly membership payment is handled through NMFF’s GoMotion website:

If you are taking lessons, register for Bouting + Classes for $130/month.

 

 

If you are just participating in open bouting, register for Bouting Only for $100/month.

 

 

If more than one family member is fencing, register for a Family Membership for $200/month.

Getting Started

 

All new fencers are required to take two 60-minute individual lessons in order to join the Beginner Class and start fencing. This will give students a comfortable environment to learn about basic footwork, bladework, equipment, safety and rules. Individual lessons are offered throughout the year. Please bring clean athletic shoes, water bottle, T-shirt and sweat pants, NMFF provides all other needed equipment.

 

NMFF’s Introductory Package includes two individual lessons plus a month of the beginner class for $100. To get started, register for the Introductory Package and then email Rich Strittmatter to schedule your lessons.

 

When you complete your two introductory lessons, you are ready to join our Beginner Class Wednesdays at 4:30. To participate in the Beginner Class, you are required to register for a $15/year Non-Competitive USA Fencing membership.
