1st Quarter Newsletter March 21, 2020 - UPDATE
Coronavirus – COVID19
Time for Home School!
This is a great way to stay in shape. Try to do this three times per week.
1. Lunge walk
2. Surrenders – Start by standing up with Hands above head (at all times) and then simply get down on knees and stand back up.
3. Up and Downs – Start by standing up with one hand above head holding anything (weight under 2lbs). Then lay on back on the ground and stand back up-- hand remaining above head at all times. Repeat, alternate hands.
4. Sit ups/Crunches
Aces-1, Clubs-2, Diamonds-3, Spades-4
Instructions: Take a deck of cards and turn them over one at a time. Each time you turn the card then do the number of the corresponding exercise. Example, 8 of Clubs means do 8 Surrenders. King of Spades = 15 Sit ups. Then finish the deck. Should take about 45 minutes.
All events are canceled until possibly late May for National Qualifiers.
Summer Camps: (Still on for now)
Times are 10-1pm Monday-Friday. Cost for members (if you are receiving this then you are a member) are $125 and $200 for non-members.
Camps will be for youth fencers up to age 13. We will have a 6:1 coach ratio to provide individual attention. Camps are designed for fun with lots of games and fencing related activities.
Please sign up if interested, but we are only taking payment at the door due to the possibility of camps being canceled.
What is next:
We need to focus on Footwork. Building lunge boards at home. Creating a hanging ball for point control.
Have a great day!
Go Fence (Practice)!
