HOW TO START ADULTS - may either start with an 8-week Beginner Session or jump into a class after a Starter Private Lesson within the first month of the session. The beginner lesson is a one hour lesson designed to teach you the basics in footwork, equipment and terminology. Beginner lessons are $70 each and you may take as many as you like before beginning with the class. After the first introduction lesson, we offer additional 30-minute beginner lessons for $40.
YOUTH - may begin at any time after September 2nd with the Beginner lesson ($70). After that, the first session is pro-rated. Registration must be paid in full for the first session prior to the first lesson. All equipment is provided except for the mask ($65), but we strongly urge adults to purchase other clothing (Jacket/Glove) as soon as possible.
Please bring athletic shoes (shoes with laces) and long pants.

FENCING BASICS
The Beginner Session will cover the basics in tactics and techniques for modern Olympic fencing. You will be versed in footwork; advance, retreat and lunge. Also, you will understand the tactical basics of when to make a direct attack or counter attack. Defensive moves such as parries and evasions will be introduced as well as disengagements and second intentions. After one 8-week session you may repeat the course, move onto the next level or fence on the "open bouting" nights and start taking private lessons. Have fun.
Go fence.
